What is there to do on Ameland?
How nice that you want to gain inspiration for your trip/vacation to Ameland. Ameland is incredibly versatile, from the beautiful peaceful nature to kite surfing and beach sailing. there is plenty to do and experience on Ameland.
The villages
On Ameland you will find 4 villages. The boat docks in Nes, the largest village on the island. East of Nes lies Buren and next to it the nature reserve Het Oerd. To the west you will first find Ballum, where the former castle of the Camminghas once stood, the town hall of Ameland now stands on that location. A little further west you will find Hollum, of course known for the Lighthouse "Bornrif" from 1881.
Rianto is located just outside Ballum, centrally located on the island. so that all villages are easy to visit by bike or bus.
